The DDT programme combines standard conference formats with open, experimental and co-creative activities and social occasions. The first day at Square – Brussels Meeting Centre includes plenary sessions, panel discussions and paper presentations and activities in three parallel tracks.

There will be contributions on the development of specific futures projects, the work of local NGO’s in Africa, Latin America and Asia, research with local authorities, artistic research, co-creation, foresight for development and for social movements.

The second part of DDT is an unconference inside ‘A Temporary Futures Institute’ at M HKA with presentations, workshops, games, panels, training, performances, experiential futures, guided tours and an Open Space with room for reflection and exchange.

In the morning of Saturday June 17, a workshop session organised by the Association of Professional Futurists, and run by APF members Wendy Schultz and Andrew Curry, will use some innovative futures methods to explore the future of the museum. This hands-on workshop will run from 10.00 to 13.00 and will invite participants to use Schultz’s Manoa method to develop a range of exploratory scenarios, and VERGE to then deepen their understanding of the worlds they have created.

Teach the Future Europe will hold its first live gathering during the Open Space of Saturday June 17.

Our children go to school to prepare themselves for the future, but why don’t they learn about this future in the classroom? We, at Teach the Future, believe futures thinking is an important 21st century skill that should be part of the curricula of the future. Children need the skills to become the entrepreneur of their own future and that of the world around them. Don’t you agree?

We are looking for all innovators in education, change makers who care about teaching and futurists with a warm hart for education. Please join us at our first Teach the Future EU event where we will come together and discuss the future of education and how to integrate futures thinking into the classroom. The afternoon will be a mix of inspiration, hands-on action and getting to know likeminded spirits. You will leave inspired about the future of education, and will be provided with tools that will help make futures thinking an important part of your teaching.

We will come together and make futures thinking part of the curriculum all over Europe. Will you be part of the movement? Will you join us? Are you especially coming for this event register here so we will save a seat for you. We look forward to meeting you!
